a birthday story
Sep. 25th, 2003 09:44 pmfor Rhiannon, a mini birthday epic.
Mom, an old hand by now, with three under the belt (so to speak), wanted to wait till the last possible moment. 'Cause, let's face it, nobody brings a baby into the word like mom. Dad was such a wreck by the time she finally allowed that they could go to the hospital, he was a quivering pool of panic; dashing around, packing necessaries in the car, and squeezing in the kids who knew better not to arrive late to the party. Once all were safely ensconced, the head count went off with just a hitch. Yep, just like a bad fifties sitcom.
Seems Dad had loaded beloved son in the trunk. Hey, that little boy ain't a valise!
Happy Birthday,
