Finished Red Rising and plowed through Golden Son in a day. On to the third book in the series, Morning Star. About 100 pages into the third book I'm shipping Sevro/Victra HARD. They are so much more interesting than the main protagonist and his perhaps, maybe, maybe not paramour, Mustang.

SO much angst it's hard to slog through until his star begins to rise again. Even through the peaks he angsts. Oh, the horror of self-doubt to the gold power.

I am on target to finish re-reading the first 5 books so I can pick up the 6th at the end of July and not wonder what the bloody hell is going on. but series' are like that when the author takes more than 3 years to crank out a sequel.  I'm hopeful that the sixth novel will wind up Darrows story (with a happy ending please!), but the world Pierce Brown has created is far too deep to end with one single character so I'm pretty sure the story will go on beyond Darrow's life, much as I'd love for him to be immortal.
